Basel Social Club is a non-for-profit association founded in spring 2022 by a collective of art professionals with the intention of creating social spaces for art, open to everyone and free of charge. What began as a one-off gathering has evolved into a platform that resists convention and embraces experimentation. Unlike traditional exhibitions or fairs, Basel Social Club operates without exclusivity, fixed models or commercial mandates. Rooted in collaboration, artistic freedom, and community engagement, Basel Social Club fosters site-specific experiences that challenge established formats. 

Each year, during the fair week in June, Basel Social Club transforms an unconventional space — whether an abandoned villa, historic factory, rural farmland, decommissioned bank — into a vibrant site for artistic exchange: an exhibition of works by a diverse group of local and international artists; a dynamic performance, film and music program; culinary offerings, and social interaction.
